TCCI Youth Membership Program

Why a TCCI Youth Program?

There exists within the Cat Fancy a need for youth activities. A Youth Program affords TCCI a chance to inject vitality and new ideas of youth into the Fancy - and it affords TCCI the chance to introduce the concepts of responsible cat ownership and good showmanship to our youth.

What will the TCCI Youth Program consist of?

Initially, the TCCI youth program will offer a simple format. The format will consist of a TCCI Youth Membership (for youth 18 and under as of January 1 of the current calendar year) and youth Divisions in the Annual TCCI Show and HHP Review. Youth membership will be offered at a rate ($10.00/year) lower than adult membership and will entitle youth to show their cats in TCCI Youth Membership Classes and TCCI Youth Essay Classes. It will also afford member youth a chance to contribute to our monthly TCCI Newsletter and to be featured in the same publication.

Youth Division Classes for the TCCI Championship Show:

PHOTOGRAPH DIVISION
1 - Best Youth-owned Cat in Show (LH/SH)
2 - Best Groomed and Conditioned Cat in Show (LH/SH)
3 - Best Friend Cat in Show (ie: best youth-cat relationship as displayed in photgraph) (LH/SH)

Cats entered in the Youth Division of the TCCI Annual Show will be limited to alters and spays which are owned by TCCI Youth members.

Youth Division Classes for the TCCI Household Pet (HHP) Review:
1 - Best Youth-owned Cat in Show (LH/SH)
2 - Best Groomed and Conditioned Cat in Show (LH/SH)
3 - Best Friend Cat in Show (ie: best youth-cat relationship as displayed in photgraph) (LH/SH)

Cats entered in the Youth Division of the TCCI Annual HHP Review will again be limited to alters and spays, but can be owned by any youth, whether a Youth TCCI member or not.

All youth photograph categories will be split into Longhair/Shorthair classes, with separate awards for each class.
