CATTERY INSPECTION PROGRAM

The TCCI Cattery Inspection Program was developed to maintain the welfare of cats, and define a level of acceptable integrity of all TCCI affiliated Catteries. There are levels of minimum acceptable performance, and recognition of higher levels of performance. Once welfare of the cats is ensured, it's important to ensure the level of service provided to future owners of the cats. It is a distinguished and earned privilege to pass this inspection. Each cattery which passes will receive an attractive certificate which can be displayed with pride.

THE PROGRAM

TCCI offers, to TCCI registered catteries, a "TCCI Approved Cattery Inspection Program." Any TCCI registered cattery in good standing may participate in this VOLUNTARY program. Inspections are conducted by licensed Veterinarians using standard TCCI inpsection forms. The inspections should be conducted on an annual basis. These inspections can be timed to coinside with any other association inspections.

CATTERY INSPECTION INSTRUCTIONS

FEES

The initial fee for participation in this program is $25.00. Yearly renewals will be issued after successful reinspection for $10.00. Cattery owners are responsible for all Veterinarian fees.

TCCI APPROVED CATTERY

A cattery passing the inspection with an average score of 2.0 or greater is eligible to receive the TCCI Cattery certificate (subject to disclaimer), stating the cattery is an approved TCCI cattery. The certificate also displays the TCCI logo, the signature of the TCCI representative, the date of inspection and the renewal date.

TCCI SUPREME CATTERY OF EXCELLENCE

A cattery which receives a rating of 3.1 or higher is eligible for "TCCI Cattery of Excellence." Catteries which receive this represent the outstanding examples of TCCI catteries. These catteries receive a similar certificate as the TCCI Approved Cattery, but it indicates the TCCI Supreme Cattery of Excellence. There is no extra charge for this rating, and all aspects of the program are the same as for the TCCI Approved Cattery. These catteries which pass this program will have their rating listed on our Breeders Lists.

ACCEPTABILITY

Any cattery which scores one "unacceptable" or has a rating less than 2.0 is not eligible for placement on our Breeders List. A cattery which does not meet the requirements for receiving the TCCI Approved Cattery rating may request another inspection at any time.
